In 2006, Michele discovered a fragrance formulation by Terri Weitzman, who was mixing perfumes and filling orders in her kitchen. The artisanal scents were unlike the heavily perfumed fragrance options available commercially.

Michele received compliments wherever she went and realized the appeal of wearing something so unique. The concept of creating personal scents fueled Michele’s passion for perfume. She bought the fledgling boutique business in 2007 with plans to expand, and Terri Michele Fragrances was born.

Thus began the process of editing, refining, and perfecting a premier fragrance. Michele worked with top perfumers to locate the finest essential oils, and top designers to create the perfect packaging. Believing that everything in life must come from passion, Michele set out to create a product that was beautiful both inside and out.

The result is Shenandoah, which debuted in 2008 to an overwhelming response. Such is the power of a fragrance that makes every woman feel as if it were created especially for her. At once soft, subtle, and alluring, the singular, utterly feminine scent is rife with bergamot, white lily, and lotus flower with hints of freesia, ylang ylang, sandalwood, and white musk.

Shenandoah—said by some to be purity and light captured in a bottle—developed a cult following. Devotees clamored for more: a shower gel, a lotion, a candle, a wardrobe of other scents. Almost overnight, Terri Michele Fragrances became a fragrance force.
